Tailored support for children and families
Individual Play Therapy
For children predominately aged 4-12 years with mild to severe difficulties. Lizzie will support children who are struggling for a variety of different reasons. This can include; anxiety, low self esteem and low confidence, trauma, withdrawal and unhappiness, neurodiversity, nightmare or disturbed sleep, bullying, school avoidance, loss or bereavement , parental separation and adoption and fostering situations. Forty minute sessions are held weekly for a minimum of 12 weeks.
Group Play Therapy
Sessions are suitable for children with mild to moderate difficulties who are facing similar challenges and presenting concerns. For example; young carers, siblings and children with similar medical conditions (Type 1 diabetes). Groups are also suitable for children who need to grow in self-confidence in social situations fostering connection. A group will meet for 50 minutes to 1 hr every week for 8-10 weeks. Lizzie facilitates groups of children from schools as well as facilitating her own groups.
Parental Support
Lizzie deeply understands the challenges parents face. Her support sessions focus on connection and compassion, helping parents navigate their child's behaviours while reflecting on their own experiences. Together, they work to create a calmer, more nurturing environment for the entire family. These support sessions can be either face to face or via zoom. Sessions run for 50 minutes and Lizzie recommends approximately 4-6 sessions.
Referral Process
Contact Lizzie with a brief summary of your concerns.
Lizzie will acknowledge your enquiry and send a referral form and Strengths Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) for completion.
After reviewing the information, Lizzie will contact you to arrange a free consultation to discuss your child's needs and challenges.
If all parties agree that Lizzie's approach is suitable, a contract will be signed, and a start date will be provided. If no spaces are available, Lizzie will offer an approximate waiting time or direct you to other therapists.
