About Lizzie

A qualified Play Therapist specialising in play, creative arts and outdoor therapy

Hello, I'm Lizzie Jennings, a qualified Play Therapist based in Cornwall, specialising in Play Therapy using creative arts and Outdoor Play Therapy. My journey began with a degree in science, which led me to the pharmaceutical industry, where I specialised in mental health and training. Becoming a mother reignited my passion for nature and nurturing, prompting a significant career shift to train as a Forest School Leader in Cornwall, embracing the outdoors as a therapeutic setting.

After experiencing a personal loss while parenting young children, I recognised the importance of exploring my own internal world of emotions to facilitate healing. This transformative experience highlighted the value of a holistic approach and the significance of the mind-body connection. Ultimately, I found my path as a child therapist, integrating my knowledge of mental health, neuroscience, trauma, healing, SEND and SEMH needs.

about-img

As a professional Play Therapist and mother, I understand the unique struggles that both children and parents face daily, particularly supporting children exhibiting challenging and concerning behaviours. These difficulties can stem from various factors, including trauma, neurodiversity, and vulnerable nervous systems.

I specialise in working with children who face social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. These challenges often alleviated when children receive therapeutic support through play and creative arts therapy, potentially further enhanced when children have a choice to engage with nature and be outdoors.
